A learning club
for curious minds

Some of the most fascinating things you can learn sometimes sit just outside the scope of what is taught in schools.

Imaginable Ink is a UK-wide learning community presenting a carefully chosen selection of courses, clubs and workshops in lesser-taught subjects that spark curiosity and a love of learning.

From languages and literature to astronomy, philosophy and critical thinking, each of our programmes is designed and led by a subject expert to guide you on a path of learning.

Membership is available for students, schools and adult learners.

Exploration through learning

The Imaginable Ink logo is inspired by the imaginary triangle between three of the brightest stars (Sirius, Canopus and Rigel) as seen from the northern hemisphere.

Stars shine on their own but are still connected, as constellations or with imaginary lines between them.

Because Canopus sits just below the horizon, it is associated with exploration and adventure.  Canopus is the brightest star in the southern celestial hemisphere and was part of the huge constellation Argo Navis, which represented the mythical Ship Argo.

Expert-led courses

Imaginable Ink is a UK-wide education network where online courses are built on the use of physical books.

We have been teaching online since 2016 and continue to innovate in the world of online learning based on our experience.

Unlike a mass online learning provider, we believe students learn best in small tutor groups (and sometimes individually) with tutor support and guidance throughout their course.

Our courses therefore bring together subject experts from around the UK with students who are motivated to achieve their potential and to make the most of learning opportunities within their subject and beyond.

Regardless of their location, aspiring students can join other like-minded learners in live, dynamic online classrooms to explore their chosen subjects with focus and curiosity.

A world of opportunity

We are based in Petersfield, Hampshire, UK and started out as a group of teachers working together to offer a mix of in-person and online courses for the local community.

By the start of 2020, we had a full schedule of clubs, courses and activities, ranging from "Japanese for Beginners" to "Cook & Learn Italian".  When our lessons had to move online that year, we continued to support local learners as well as welcoming new students from around the UK via partner schools and colleges.

Imaginable Ink is now an online learning community with a difference.

Our three key beliefs are that lessons should be:

  • Grounded in the real world

We connect learning to local places whenever we can, such as through our partnerships with schools, colleges and independent bookshops.

  • Built around books

We encourage students to add a "book bundle" with their course so that they have plenty of resources and inspiration for wider reading and independent study.

  • Designed for genuine engagement

Active participation can take place in so many different ways: student-student interaction, group projects, peer discussion and community interaction.
